Dead wolf found near road in Valais

A private individual found a dead wolf next to Furkastrasse in Mörel VS on Sunday. The carcass showed several injuries, but no gunshot wound. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation.
The cantonal police recovered the dead animal, as reported on Monday. The authorities sent the carcass to the Institute of Fish and Wildlife Medicine in Bern on the same day to clarify the cause of death. According to the police, it was a polytrauma. The cantonal police did not provide any further details.
