Delsberg JU cracks the summer mark early in the morning on Sunday

In Delsberg in the canton of Jura, 25 degrees Celsius was measured shortly after midnight on Sunday night. This means that the summer mark has already been broken again. On Saturday, temperatures of over 25 degrees were measured in ten cantons.
With a south-westerly wind, the temperature in Delsberg Jura was exactly 25 degrees at 0.50 a.m., the weather service MeteoNews reported on Sunday morning. The weather service expected the list of places with summer temperatures to grow over the course of the day.
In addition, MeteoSwiss measured an "extraordinary" 17.4 degrees Celsius at midnight in Payerne VD at around 1500 meters above sea level. According to the weather service, this is the second-highest temperature ever recorded at this location in April. The highest temperature of 17.8 degrees was measured on April 28, 2012, as MeteoSwiss announced via X, formerly Twitter. The data goes back to 1954.
On Saturday, temperatures even reached just below 30 degrees in some places. According to Meteonews, 28.8 degrees were reached in Basel-Binningen.
