Economiesuisse Calls for Action on Economic Policy Issues

The Swiss economic association Economiesuisse has called on the newly elected parliament to take decisive action on economic issues. This is particularly in the areas of energy supply, pension provision, foreign trade and finance. These areas are at the centre of the upcoming legislative period and the need for reform in Switzerland is considerable. The energy supply must be quickly expanded and secured with a broad mix of all available energy sources. In the pension system, intergenerational justice must be created. The Swiss foreign policy relations must be further developed and regulated with regard to the most important trading partner, the EU. The growing federal budget must be kept on a stable course and the debt brake must be strictly adhered to beyond 2024.
