Ella Rumpf and Karim Barras are best Swiss actors 2024

Ella Rumpf has been honored as best actress at the Swiss Film Awards. She received the award on Friday evening in Zurich for her performance in "Le théorème de Marguerite". Karim Barras ("Bisons") was honored as best actor.
At the film awards ceremony, 29-year-old Ella Rumpf beat Ursina Lardi ("Neighbors from Above") and Julia Jentsch ("8 Days in August"). In the drama "Le théorème de Marguerite", Rumpf plays a student who fails at her dissertation presentation. She becomes a shoe saleswoman before discovering her talent for the Chinese board game Mahjong.
Rumpf received a César for this role in February. The jury of the French film award honored the Swiss-French actress as the female discovery of the year.
Another Swiss-French actor, Karim Barras, was honored for his performance in the boxing thriller "Bisons". Pierre Monnard's film has been nominated six times for the Swiss Film Award.
