Two small aircraft came into contact with each other in Lucerne airspace on Sunday afternoon for as yet unknown reasons. Both planes were able to make an emergency landing in Emmen - one on the military airfield, the other on a meadow in the Waltwil area. One woman was taken to hospital for a check-up.
The four other people in the two planes were uninjured, as the Lucerne police reported on Tuesday.
The propeller, nose and cockpit window of one aircraft were damaged, while the propeller and right wheel of the other aircraft were damaged. According to the police, the damage to the two private aircraft amounted to around 150,000 francs.
The collision occurred at around 4.50 p.m. over the Seetal/Sempachersee area. Both aircraft had taken off from Valais and were heading towards the canton of Aargau. The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (Sust) is responsible for the safety investigation, and the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland initiated an investigation.
