Following the collapse of scaffolding in Lausanne VD with three fatalities, safety work continued on the construction site in Prilly on Saturday. The owners of around 200 vehicles trapped in a parking garage were allowed to collect their cars on Saturday.

The parking garage was closed after the accident on Friday. The safety work will probably continue throughout the weekend, but car and two-wheeler owners will be able to drive their vehicles away during a time window on Saturday morning, according to the Vaud cantonal police. The parking garage should be closed again at midday.

Three workers lost their lives in the serious accident on the construction site at the "Malley Lumières" shopping center in the west of Lausanne on Friday morning. Eight other people suffered injuries when scaffolding around 60 meters high collapsed for unknown reasons. The workers were building a 19-storey wooden residential tower in which 96 apartments are to be built. The stores in the shopping center remained closed on Saturday.
