The auction house Christie's is offering eight luxury watches from the estate of German Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher for auction. They are considered the highlights of the auction and should go under the hammer late on Tuesday afternoon.
Among them is a piece made especially for Schumacher with a dial in the Ferrari color red and symbols of the seven world championship titles that Schumacher won during his career. The estimated price is between one and two million francs. However, between 20 and 26 percent commission will be added to the purchase price for the auction house.
The auction should have taken place on Monday. It was postponed due to an IT glitch at the auction house that affected the website. Interested parties can also bid online at Christie's.
Schumacher lives with his family on Lake Geneva. He has not appeared in public since a serious skiing accident in 2013. The family has not provided any information about how he is doing. Schumacher was a passionate watch collector.
