Fribourg Belluard-Bollwerk Festival reaches 5000 people again

The Belluard-Bollwerk Festival of Contemporary Art in Fribourg was once again visited by 5000 people this year. That is the same number as in the past two years. The majority of the performances were sold out, as the festival management announced after the end of the festival on Sunday.
The theme of this year's 41st edition was "Lebenswut". 27 multidisciplinary projects were shown. The festival budget amounted to 885,000 francs. More than 40 years after its launch, the festival continues to demonstrate its vitality and its unifying role in the heart of Fribourg and Switzerland, writes the management in the closing communiqué.
It was the fifth and last festival edition under the direction of Laurence Wagner. She has announced her resignation and wants to have more space for her own projects in future. The position of artistic director has been re-advertised, according to the press release.
