Genfer Firmenchef stolpert über Nepotismus-Affäre

The head of the Geneva-based public energy service provider SIG, Christian Brunier, is stepping down from his position. This was prompted by revelations about the employment of relatives within the company.
He is retiring early, the SIG boss announced on Tuesday. Robert Cramer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Services industriels de Genève (SIG), told the media that Brunier was deeply affected by the attacks to which he had been subjected. "He thought it best to leave as soon as possible," Cramer added.
Brunier worked at SIG for 45 years, ten of them as head. He actually wanted to retire at the end of March 2025.
Suspicions of nepotism have been hanging over Brunier since the newspaper "Tribune de Genève" and Léman Bleu television reported that his two stepsons were working at SIG, as was the wife of one of them. Last Friday, RTS reported that one of Brunier's nephews had been hired by the company.
