Gsoa criticizes “pointless” fighter jet exercise on the freeway

The Group for a Switzerland without an Army (Gsoa) has strongly criticized the military exercise on the A1 freeway in Vaud. The army should refrain from such superfluous and "resource-wasting" events in future, it said in a press release on Wednesday.
Politicians should finally focus on a sober threat analysis instead of wasting money on unrealistic threat scenarios. The exercise costs the population "billions in taxpayers' money" and does not provide any security. The Gsoa called for more attention to be paid to real threats such as the climate crisis or civil protection.
The air force exercise could hardly be surpassed in terms of propaganda effect. The Gsoa wrote that the army was continuing its months-long armament campaign without restraint.
