The proportion of women in the management of Swiss companies currently stands at 28.5%. This means that the proportion of women has risen by over four percentage points in the past ten years, as an analysis by the credit agency CRIF shows.
There are also more women on the boards of directors of Swiss companies today than in the past. Within ten years, the proportion has risen from 20.7% to 24.7%.
There are differences depending on the sector: In the veterinary sector, in the social sector and in service companies such as hairdressers and beauty salons, more than 50 percent of management positions are held by women. In contrast, the proportion of women in management positions in the civil engineering and mechanical engineering sectors is below average.
All persons entered in the commercial register as managers or board members were included in the survey. The years 2023 and 2013 were compared.
