The Bündner government plans to reduce the tax rate for natural persons by five percent from next year. In a second step, a revision of the tax law is planned to specifically reduce taxes for families and wage earners. The reduction of the tax rate will reduce cantonal income, wealth and source taxes for all taxpayers, including wealthy people and second home owners, from 2025, resulting in an annual tax relief of 32 million Swiss francs. The cantonal parliament, the Great Council, will consider the proposal in the December session. The second step, the revision of the cantonal tax law, is planned for 2025. This will further reduce taxes for families and wage earners by an estimated 38 million Swiss francs per year, split equally between cantonal and municipal taxes. This will result in a total tax reduction of five to ten percent for these groups. The tax reduction will be financed from the canton's accumulated own funds for the next eight years. The financial development of Graubünden in this period will determine how the situation will be handled afterwards.
