As is well known, the telecoms group Sunrise will be spun off from its current parent company Liberty Global and listed separately on the Swiss stock exchange. It is now known who will sit on the Sunrise Board of Directors after the spin-off.
In a press release on Monday, Sunrise refers to a "strong mix of Swiss nationals and European-based strategic executives from the telecommunications and media sector". Mike Fries, the current CEO and co-founder of Liberty Global, will take over the chairmanship.
Former Sunrise board member Ingrid Deltenre, who is also known as the former Director of Swiss Television and also headed the Directorate General of the European Broadcasting Union, is also set to join the board. Adam Bird, Senior Partner and Global Lead of the Consumer Tech & Media division at McKinsey, will also be a member of the committee.
Sunrise is proposing the former Sunrise board member and former Accenture CEO Thomas Meyer, the former Swisscom and Kabel Deutschland board member and Andmann Media Holding partner as additional board members. The board will be completed by Liberty Global's Chief Technology Officer Enrique Rodriguez and Lutz Schüler, the CEO of Virgin Media O2 in the UK.
The spin-off will reportedly be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024. A Capital Markets Day will be held in this context on September 9.
