Mann stirbt im St. Johannsen-Maßnahmenzentrum

A 19-year-old Pole died on Thursday morning in a cell at the St. Johannsen detention center near Gals BE. The exact cause of death is not yet known. It is being investigated by the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
The man was found in his cell in a critical state of health shortly before 7.15 a.m., according to the regional public prosecutor's office and the Bern cantonal police.
Despite immediate medical care and resuscitation, the emergency services were only able to determine that the occupant had died. The public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the incident.
