Man recovered dead from Lake Sarnen after boating accident

The man who has been missing since a boating accident on Lake Sarnen has been found dead after a search lasting several days. According to the Obwalden cantonal police on Friday, there were no indications of third party involvement.
The 75-year-old man was out in a rowing boat on Monday. The boat capsized, after which eyewitnesses were able to observe the man swimming. Then visual contact was lost.
The Obwalden cantonal police were assisted in the search by divers from the Lucerne police. Cadaver sniffer dogs from the Bern and Zurich cantonal police were also deployed. The Sarnen fire department was also on site.
The rescue was carried out without incident, according to the Obwalden cantonal police.
