Musik Hug to stay on Zurich’s Limmatquai after all

The future of the traditional music store Musik Hug in Zurich has now been clarified. It will remain on Limmatquai after all. From February 2025, Musik Hug will present itself "in a new guise" at its current location. A branch will be opened at the main station.
The company announced on Tuesday that Musik Hug will present a wide range of products on four floors with a newly designed main entrance at Grossmünsterplatz on Limmatquai.
The Steinway & Sons Gallery and the Spirio Lounge, where Musik Hug exhibits grand pianos, among other things, will also be modernized. The sheet music and recordings will also be exhibited in a contemporary way.
House to be shared with running shoe company On in future
At the beginning of 2023, the company announced its intention to move out of the flagship store and probably relocate to a more favorable location. Meanwhile, a multi-storey branch of the running shoe company On was to be built on Limmatquai.
As Musik Hug will now remain at Limmatquai after all, the store will be divided in future: On will open a branch at the address in 2025 as planned. Further information, including the opening date, will follow in due course, the statement continued.
The traditional company Musik Hug was founded in 1807 and has been at home on Limmatquai since 1872. The company operates other locations, such as the Steinway Piano Galleries concept, in Bern, Basel and Geneva.
