The social partners in the scaffolding industry have agreed on a new collective labor agreement (CLA). It comes into force on April 1, 2025 and is valid for four years.
The new collective labor agreement (CLA) will bring decisive progress for companies and employees in order to make the industry future-proof and competitive, the social partners wrote in a joint press release on Thursday. The trade unions Unia and Syna as well as the Swiss Scaffolding Contractors' Association SGUV signed the agreement.
According to the information provided, specific improvements for employees include an automatic cost-of-living adjustment and a 25 percent bonus for Saturday work. The 15-minute morning break is now also paid and counts as working time. The new working time model is advantageous for employers: it allows working hours to be adapted to "seasonal reality".
However, the Federal Council has yet to declare the scaffolding CLA generally binding. This is expected sometime between now and April 1, 2025, explained Unia when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency. According to the union, there are currently around 400 companies with a total of 4,000 employees in the Swiss scaffolding industry.
