New presidium for the Freethinkers’ Association

The Freethinkers' Association has made new appointments to its presidency at its delegates' meeting in Aarau. The assembly unanimously elected Sonja Stocker and Valentin Abgottspon to the co-presidency on Saturday.
Andreas Kyriacou stepped down from his position as President after eleven years, as the association announced on Sunday. Abgottspon was previously Vice President. He works as a teacher and humanistic ritual guide. Environmental engineer Sonja Stocker had previously been a member of the central board.
According to its own statements, Freethinkers Switzerland advocates a "secular-humanist ethic" in which human rights play a central role. They are committed to the concerns of non-denominational people and represent a "scientifically plausible world view".
