The Swiss healthcare system is renowned for its high quality, however, a recent publication from the Swiss Health Observatory (Obsan) has revealed that certain individuals are disadvantaged when it comes to the quality of healthcare they receive. Those who are disadvantaged in terms of education, employment and income generally rate the quality of healthcare as poorer. This is also true for 18-34 year olds, those living in single-parent households, first-generation migrants and those with tertiary education. The cumulative effect of socio-economic disadvantages increases the risk of foregoing services due to cost. Those with chronic illnesses feel they are not receiving enough support. For migrants, communication with doctors in the national language can also be difficult. In summary, the Obsan report has highlighted that certain individuals are disadvantaged when it comes to the quality of healthcare they receive in Switzerland.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
