One injured in apartment fire in Neuenburg

The tenant of an apartment was slightly injured in a fire in the town of Neuchâtel on Sunday. 16 residents of the building had to be evacuated due to the heavy smoke. They were able to return to their apartments after the fire department operation.
The Neuchâtel emergency center was informed late Sunday afternoon about smoke coming from an apartment in the building, as the Neuchâtel public prosecutor's office and cantonal police announced on Tuesday. The firefighters broke down the door of the affected apartment and rescued the slightly injured tenant trapped inside.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. The damage was limited to the apartment affected by the fire. The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
