On Wednesday, a 37-year-old man will appear before the Zurich District Court to answer charges of murder. He is accused of shooting an Italian man on a parking lot. The prosecutor is demanding a life sentence. The accused denies the crime. The 66-year-old Italian had transferred two installments of 350,000 Swiss francs to the accused as a loan for an alleged, unknown investment business. According to the prosecutor, the incident was about money. In August 2019, the 37-year-old man shot the Italian from behind twice at close range from inside a car, as he was unable to repay the money he had used for personal purposes. This was done in a malicious, premeditated manner, akin to an execution. The accused is blaming the mafia or other dubious business partners of the Italian for the crime. On Wednesday, he refused to make any statements. He admitted to being an "ass" and having made mistakes in the past, but he said, "I did not kill him."
