A committee of the SVP, FDP, Center Party, GLP and EVP has launched a pro-campaign for pension fund reform. This is overdue because pensions for part-time workers and people on low incomes will be increased. Many women in particular would benefit from this.

Just over a month before the vote, the non-partisan alliance presented its arguments in favor of the BVG reform on Tuesday. In their eyes, the proposal creates more justice between the generations and improves the labor market opportunities of older employees.

"The BVG reform is a broad-based compromise," the supporters claimed in a press release. It strengthens the second pillar and adapts the pension scheme to social and economic developments.

On September 22, voters will be able to express their opinion on the reform opposed by the left. According to the Confederation, this proposal primarily affects employed persons who are insured according to the BVG minimum or only slightly more. This is likely to be no more than a third of all insured persons.
