Pharmaceutical Industry Pays 218 Million Swiss Francs to Doctors and Hospitals

The Swiss pharmaceutical industry paid out a total of 218 million Swiss francs to doctors, hospitals and other stakeholders in the past year. Novartis was the top payer with 31 million francs, followed by Roche with 21.9 million and Pfizer with 20 million. This information was released by the research network of the Ringier Axel Springer publishing house and was confirmed by the pharmaceutical association Scienceindustries. The payments are regulated by law and are allowed for research, training, consulting and other services. The industry individually and by name lists the individual recipients.
