Player hits the casino jackpot

A player hit the Swiss casino jackpot on Thursday night. He left the casino with almost 2.6 million francs, as the Swiss Casinos Group announced. This was the 85th time the jackpot has been won. Since its launch, the holding company has paid out 184 million francs.
Eleven casinos are involved in the jackpot. Once it is cracked, it starts again at one million francs. The jackpot is the biggest in Europe, the statement continued. The winnings are tax-free. According to Swiss Casinos, it is the largest casino operator in the country.
With its casinos in Pfäffikon, St. Gallen, Schaffhausen and Zurich, the online casino and a restaurant, it generated revenue of CHF 209 million in 2022. Gaming revenue amounted to CHF 195 million, of which the holding company paid CHF 85.4 million as a casino levy to the AHV and the cantons.
