The Geneva-based private bank Pictet announced a change in leadership on Tuesday. Current Senior Partner Renaud de Planta will leave the partnership at the end of 2024 and move to the Group's Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors of Banque Pictet & Cie at the beginning of 2025. Marc Pictet will take over as Senior Partner, the bank said. Following the announcement of Renaud de Planta's nomination to the Board of Directors of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) in September, the step has been taken. The 60-year-old Geneva banker joined Pictet as a managing partner in 1998. Since 2019, he has held the role of senior partner, leading the partner committee as "Primus inter pares". Renaud de Planta has played a key role in the progress of Pictet over the past 25 years, according to Pictet. He has been instrumental in the expansion of Pictet's institutional asset management business. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a unit with less than 20 billion francs in assets to become the second largest Swiss asset manager with more than 230 billion francs in managed assets. Pictet, a leading European private banking group, has announced that Marc Pictet will become Senior Partner in July 2024. Mr. Pictet has been with the banking group since 2001 and was appointed Partner in 2011. He currently serves as Co-Head of Pictet Wealth Management, the group's wealth management unit, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Pictet & Cie (Europe). The Geneva Private Banking Group is one of the largest Swiss wealth management institutions, managing assets worth 638 billion Swiss francs. It employs over 5,300 people and has 30 branches around the world.
