Reporting Damage to Mobiliar due to Storm on Monday

The severe storm on Monday caused major damage in La Chaux-de-Fonds and other places. The Mobiliar insurance company received 2300 damage reports, with an estimated cost of over 6.9 million francs. La Chaux-de-Fonds was particularly affected, with estimated damage costs currently being determined. Damage reports were also received from Italy, where hail with diameters up to 10 centimeters damaged cars belonging to Swiss customers at Lake Garda. According to the Mobiliar Lab for Natural Risks, future extreme events could lead to high damages. Initial estimates from authorities suggest that the storm in La Chaux-de-Fonds alone caused damage to buildings in the amount of 70 to 90 million francs.
