In the Canton of Bern, no one was elected to the Council of States in the first round of voting. A second round of voting will take place on November 19th. The absolute majority required to be elected is 173,210 votes.
The Canton of Bern is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is the second most populous canton in the country, with a population of 1.1 million people. The Council of States is the upper house of the Swiss Federal Assembly, and is composed of 46 representatives from the cantons. Each canton is represented by two members, who are elected by the citizens of the canton.
In the first round of voting for the Council of States in the Canton of Bern, no one was elected. This means that a second round of voting will take place on November 19th. In order to be elected, a candidate must receive an absolute majority of 173,210 votes. The second round of voting will determine who will represent the Canton of Bern in the Council of States.
