In the Canton of Bern, it appears that there will not be a second round of voting. FDP candidate Sandra Hess announced her withdrawal if the Greens also withdraw their candidate, Bernhard Pulver. This was announced by the party on Monday. This means that the current incumbent, Alain Berset, is likely to be re-elected without a second round of voting. This would be the first time in the Canton's history that a second round of voting has been avoided. The FDP and the Greens have both expressed their support for Berset, and it is expected that their candidates will be withdrawn in the coming days. This would mean that Berset would be re-elected without a second round of voting.
