Schoolchildren leave school in Bern after threat situation

The first children have left the buildings following an alleged threat at a school in Bern, as a photographer from the Keystone-SDA news agency captured at the scene. A major police operation has been underway at a school in Bern since late Tuesday morning.
The operation was triggered by a report of an alleged threat, as a spokeswoman for the Bern cantonal police confirmed a report in the "Berner Zeitung" newspaper on request. The threat situation could not be confirmed so far. As a first step, the schoolchildren were detained in the classrooms of the Munzinger school.
Police officers in full uniform were deployed, as can be seen on video footage from Keystone-SDA. The police were on the scene with several vehicles, including a mobile operations center. Several streets in the immediate vicinity of the school were cordoned off.
