Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has called for the participation of Asian countries in the peace conference in Switzerland. "We are counting on you to support this summit and to be present in Switzerland," said Zelensky in his speech to the countries in the region at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore on Sunday.

Ukraine, which has been hit by a Russian war of aggression for more than two years, is counting on as many countries worldwide as possible to take part in the peace conference in Switzerland on June 15 and 16. In this way, Kiev hopes to increase the pressure on Russia in order to force Moscow to make concessions.

Selensky said on Sunday that representatives from 106 countries had already confirmed their participation. However, he once again accused Russia of trying to disrupt the organization and success of the summit. "Russia is now traveling to many countries around the world and threatening to blockade food, agricultural and chemical products, increase energy prices or simply exert pressure so that other countries in the world do not attend the summit," said Zelensky.

There is also information that some countries have already begun to help Russia in its attempts to disrupt the regime. Pressure on Moscow must be increased through diplomatic isolation of Russia and a strong Ukrainian army in order to stop Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin, according to the Ukrainian president.

At the conference in the Southeast Asian economic hub, hundreds of ministers, military officials and experts from all over the world discussed current trouble spots and threats until Sunday. Topics such as artificial intelligence, cyber defense and future types of warfare were also discussed.
