Several accidents after the onset of winter in Appenzell Ausserrhoden

On Thursday evening, several traffic accidents occurred during the heavy snowfall in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Two people had to be taken to hospital with injuries.
According to the Appenzell Ausserrhoden cantonal police, several vehicles skidded on snow-covered roads. This resulted in collisions with a place name sign, an island safety post or a tree stump, for example.
In Herisau, the car of a 23-year-old driver skidded on a bend and crashed into an oncoming vehicle. The 23-year-old man and a passenger in the oncoming car suffered injuries and were taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
