Since the start of the war between the Palestinian organization Hamas ruling in Gaza and Israel, 84 trucks of aid have arrived in the Gaza Strip. Among them were goods from ten trucks that arrived on Friday, as the German Press Agency learned from security sources on the Palestinian side of the sealed coastal strip. In addition to water and food, medicines were also delivered. On Thursday, goods from twelve trucks arrived. Fuel was still not delivered. According to the United Nations, however, around 100 truckloads per day are needed to supply the 2.2 million people in the Gaza Strip.
A team of ten doctors traveled to the Gaza Strip. Among them were doctors for war surgery, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced in Geneva. With the supplied operating sets, up to 5,000 people could be treated. The aid is a "small dose of relief, but not enough".
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has announced that it will provide assistance to those affected by the recent Hamas attack in Gaza. The ICRC team will provide medical and psychological support to those affected, as well as help with the reunification of families of those released as hostages. Four hostages have been released so far, but it is unclear if further releases are planned. The ICRC will continue to support those affected by the attack and their families.
The United Nations and other aid organizations are sounding the alarm as fuel is urgently needed to operate power generators in hospitals. Israel is concerned that the Islamist Hamas could use the fuel for their terrorist purposes. The Rafah crossing in the northern Sinai in Egypt is the only way to bring urgently needed aid to the Gaza Strip, which is sealed off by Israel.
