Employees of Vetropack in St-Prex VD suspended their strike on Thursday. The employees of the glass factory, which will be closed at the end of August, have received guarantees from the management for the negotiations on the social plan.

"Negotiations are really starting", the Unia and Syna unions announced on Thursday. The management has "finally taken a step" towards the workforce. Although it has not yet listened to all demands, it is at least entering into negotiations, according to a press release.

According to the unions, a timetable has been drawn up for negotiations over the next two weeks. The strike, which has been ongoing since last Friday, has been suspended for one week.

For its part, Vetropack reacted with "relief". The company can now once again supply its customers from St-Prex.
