SVP Waives Criteria for Federal Council Ticket

The Swiss Social Democratic Party (SP) has decided to nominate several candidates for the Federal Council seat vacated by Alain Berset. All interested party members can submit their candidacy until October 29th. A commission will then assess the applications for suitability. The candidates will also present themselves to the party members and the public at four public hearings in Geneva, Biel, Olten and Schaffhausen in early November. The party will nominate its Federal Council ticket on November 25th and the election will take place on December 13th. Zürich's Ständerat Daniel Jositsch will inform about a possible candidacy on September 5th.nnnnnnnnnnnnnn
