The head of the Swiss delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) was overjoyed after Nemo won the music competition in front of a global audience. "Nemo was able to withstand the enormous pressure that had been on him for weeks due to the great betting odds", Yves Schifferle was quoted as saying in a press release on Sunday.

Nemo delivered a "sensational performance", said the Swiss ESC delegation leader and Head of Show at SRF television. "We are overjoyed that Nemo was able to win for Switzerland after the excellent third and fourth places of Gjon's Tears 2021 and Luca Hänni 2019."

SRG Director General Gilles Marchand also watched Nemo's victory on site in Malmö. "A great success for Nemo, for Switzerland and for the whole team that made this victory possible," said Marchand. He is looking forward to the "Swiss" edition of the ESC in 2025. "It is a great artistic and touristic opportunity to show the world what Switzerland is all about and it is now up to us to take up this challenge together."

Switzerland won the biggest international music competition on Saturday evening in Malmö, Sweden. The 24-year-old musical talent Nemo from Biel took first place at this year's ESC with the song "The Code" and an artistic performance. The ESC 2025 will therefore take place in Switzerland.
