The airline Swiss will be flying to Tel Aviv again from January 8. Connections had been suspended following the terrorist attack on Israel by the Islamist group Hamas on October 7.
Around three months after the outbreak of war, Swiss intends to resume five direct flights a week from Zurich to Tel Aviv, the airline announced on Friday. After a detailed analysis, the conclusion was reached that safe flight operations could be guaranteed.
However, possible adjustments to flight schedules cannot be completely ruled out due to the changing security situation, it said. Flights can be booked from next Monday.
From (tomorrow) Saturday, Swiss will also be flying to the Lebanese capital Beirut twice a week again until January 13. After that, a winter break is planned until March 22. Passengers affected by the cancellations can rebook their flights to the two destinations free of charge or have their tickets refunded.
