The Prix Swissperform 2024 acting awards were presented on Monday evening as part of the 59th Solothurn Film Festival. The winners are Dominique Devenport, Arcadi Radeff, Stéphane Erös and Carol Schuler.

Dominique Devenport won the award for best leading role as nurse Johanna Gabathuler in the historical drama series "Davos 1917". The SRF and ARD co-production revolves around the Swiss spa town of the same name, which became a meeting place for the elite of the warring parties during the First World War.

"The fact that the series worked so well for so many people is largely down to the leading actress," jury member Samuel Streiff was quoted as saying in a statement from the Solothurn Film Festival. Devenport carried the responsibility for her second leading role in a prestigious major production "seemingly effortlessly", it continued - the jury was immediately in agreement.

Arcadi Radeff received the award for best supporting role. Radeff impressed the jury in two productions: "Délits mineurs" ("Hard Pavement") and "Les Indociles" ("The Troublemakers"), both co-productions by RTS. The jury praised Radeff for mastering two different roles with a calm, sensitive performance as well as great composure and precision. They are looking forward to seeing Radeff in a leading role soon.

Ten thousand francs prize money

19-year-old Stéphane Erös was delighted to receive the young talent award. His acting in "Délits Mineurs" as a "problem youth" from Geneva was recognized. Tatort actress Carol Schuler took home the jury prize. She has been investigating "Tatort" in Zurich as Tessa Ott since 2020.

The awards are endowed with ten thousand francs each. They have been honoring acting performances in television formats since 2001. This year's jury consisted of actor Samuel Streiff, film producer Aline Schmid and the artistic director of the Solothurn Film Festival, Niccolò Castelli.
