Switzerland-wide exhibition project on the disappearance of glaciers

The exhibition in Lucerne's Glacier Garden is part of the nationwide exhibition project "Look how the glacier is disappearing". Museums and cultural institutions from Aarau to Lausanne are taking part.
The exhibition aims to look at the disappearance of glaciers from the perspective of artists, according to a statement from the organizers. The project brings together artists of the past and present from all disciplines. The exhibition aims to confront visitors with the reality of change - in nature and in art. After all, glaciers are closely linked to Switzerland's cultural heritage.
During the exhibition project, thematic works from the collections of Swiss museums will be on display. The Aargauer Kunsthaus is currently showing mountain paintings by the Swiss painter Caspar Wolf and iceberg and glacier images by the French-Swiss artist Julian Charrière.
In addition, works by contemporary artists are exhibited in thematically appropriate locations. For example, in the Hotel Glacier du Rhône in Gletsch VS near the Rhone Glacier, or in the Glacier Garden in Lucerne. Other institutions such as the Bündner Kunstmuseum in Chur, the Kunsthalle Bern and the Mudac in Lausanne are also taking part in the project. Events and performances are also part of the program.
