The Basel Zoo is delighted to welcome four newborn cheetahs

As if it were a present for its 150th birthday on July 3, Basel Zoo is delighted to present four newborn cheetahs. The males and females, who now weigh around 2.4 kilograms, were born on May 19.
The four cubs are strong enough to grow up, but are still nameless, the zoo announced on Monday. This is the first litter for female cheetah Saada, who herself was born at Basel Zoo in 2021, and her father Drogo.
According to the communiqué, cheetahs are typically solitary animals - the females even more so than the males. Mother Saada also raises her cubs alone at the zoo. They can be seen in the outdoor enclosure of the Etosha facility. The father currently has to live behind the scenes.
