Blick" comments on the outcome of the Ukraine peace conference at Bürgenstock NW as follows:
"(...) In the fairy-tale Bürgenstock luxury hotel this weekend, people were caught up in the no less fairy-tale idea that a diplomatic solution to the conflict could somehow be found. That is a dangerous illusion. (...) The fact that the conspicuously cheerful Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky radiated so much confidence at the Bürgenstock (...) seems strange. The meagre diplomatic yield of the high-gloss event high above Lake Lucerne is unlikely to have delighted the wartime president. (...) Diplomacy is complex and time-consuming, and Switzerland is clearly trying to make a contribution to finding a consensus. But the consensus of like-minded people is of little use in putting a stop to Russian terror. (...) Bold steps are needed. The Bürgenstock has not dared to take them."
