In the event of a power shortage in Switzerland, the public transport system would have to reduce its services significantly. This could include fewer and shorter trains, electric buses instead of diesel buses, and reduced freight traffic. The Swiss government has detailed the scenarios for a power shortage and has taken steps to prepare for such an event. The situation is less serious than it was last year, as gas storage is well-filled and power plants are available in high numbers. Despite this, there are still uncertainties due to various factors, such as the weather. The government has therefore developed measures to be taken in the event of a power shortage, in collaboration with the economy.
