Bern under the spell of the Cup final: thousands of football fans from Ticino and French-speaking Switzerland made their way to the Wankdorf Stadium on Sunday.
The police made sure that the supporters of both clubs did not get in each other's way before the game. The special trains from Ticino arrived in the suburb of Ostermundigen. From there, the police directed the FC Lugano fans to the stadium two kilometers away.
The route of the Servette fan march led from Bern railroad station over the Lorraine Bridge in the direction of Wankdorf. In rainy weather, the Servette fans got into the right mood with chants, smoke petards and firecrackers, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency reported.
The stadium was not yet sold out on Sunday morning. Lugano had not sold its entire ticket contingent.
