Outgoing Federal Chancellor Walter Thurnherr wishes for a successor with good knowledge of administration and political processes. The person must also be able to lead, be multilingual and have enough time to work. Leadership is especially important due to the increasing differences that need to be resolved. Thurnherr does not wish to interfere in the selection process, as it is the responsibility of the factions and the parliament. It is yet unknown if Federal Council spokesman André Simonazzi is a candidate for the succession. He stated that it is too early to make a decision.
