The Ticino cantonal police have set up three hotspots in the Maggia Valley. These are intended to enable communication with the outside world, as the Ticino cantonal police announced on Monday morning.
Accordingly, three patrols from the cantonal police were transported to Fusio, Peccia and San Carlo in the Maggia Valley to set up hotspots there. In particular, these hotspots should also enable communication with the cantonal emergency response team, according to the communiqué.
The police patrols made direct contact with the population cut off from the mobile network and informed them about the hotspots.
On Saturday night, the upper part of the Maggia Valley was hit by a severe storm. In addition to traffic routes and water supplies, electricity and mobile communications were also partially disrupted.
