Two dead bodies found in a house in the Zurich municipality of Knonau

A man and a woman have been found dead in a house in Knonau in the canton of Zurich. Police believe that the 80-year-old man first killed his 78-year-old wife and then himself. The two Swiss nationals were found by the police on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after midday, relatives reported to the Zurich cantonal police operations center that their relatives could no longer be reached, according to a police statement issued on Tuesday evening. The police officers who responded found two lifeless people in the house.
The exact circumstances and background to the crime are now the subject of ongoing investigations by the public prosecutor's office and the cantonal police.
