Two-year-old child fatally injured by car in stone wall

A two-year-old boy died in a collision with a horse-drawn trailer on a pedestrian crossing in Steinmaur ZH on Thursday evening. Despite resuscitation measures, the child succumbed to his serious injuries on the spot.
The cause was unknown in the evening. Specialists from the cantonal police, the Forensic Institute and the Institute of Forensic Medicine collected evidence, according to the cantonal police. The accident occurred at 5.30 pm. The 50-year-old driver was turning off with the horse trailer when he hit the boy.
The care team and an emergency counselor took care of the toddler's relatives and those involved. The police are looking for witnesses.
