Uniform Regulations for the Installation of Noisy Heat Pumps

The installation and operation of heat pumps can cause noise and disturb the neighbourhood. To simplify the noise protection measures, the Federal Council has approved an amendment to the Noise Protection Ordinance. The number of heat pumps has increased significantly in recent years as they are a popular replacement for environmentally harmful oil or gas heating systems. To ensure that the noise levels are not exceeded, the Noise Protection Ordinance must be adhered to. The amendment simplifies and standardises the precautionary measures for planners, builders, authorities and courts.
