Uri population votes against expansion of solar obligation

On Sunday, the people of Uri voted clearly against an extended solar obligation on new buildings. The partial revision of the tax law was approved by the people.
The population decided against the energy ordinance by 7398 votes to 4121, as the canton announced on its website on Sunday. This corresponds to a "no" vote of 64 percent. The voter turnout was 35.8 percent.
This means that the solar obligation for new buildings continues to apply from a chargeable building area of 300 square meters. The Uri parliament had wanted to set the limit at 100 square meters. This is because with a limit of 300 square meters, around 92 percent of buildings would not be affected, as stated in the voting message. In view of the electricity shortage, this was "too little".
Fewer tax deductions
The partial revision of the tax law was approved by the electorate by 7039 votes to 4039, with 64 percent in favor.
The main points concerned the childcare deduction, which was limited to CHF 25,000 per child, the deduction for travel expenses, which was reduced to a maximum of CHF 13,000, and tax-free bridging benefits for older unemployed persons who have lost their taxable income.
