In Fehraltdorf ZH, a man apparently deliberately drove a tractor into greenhouses on Saturday. He later damaged the traffic equipment on a road. According to the police, the 49-year-old Swiss man was unfit to drive and did not have a driver's license.

On Saturday, road users reported that a man had caused damage with a tractor on the Zürcherstrasse, the Zurich cantonal police said on Sunday. Two patrols then stopped him and questioned him.

During questioning, it emerged that the 49-year-old had previously wreaked havoc at a farm. According to the communiqué, the man not only damaged the facades of the greenhouses, but also poured several liters of polluting liquids, including fuel, into a shaft.

The local fire department then set up oil barriers and removed the liquids. It was reported that this prevented any major damage to the environment.

According to a police estimate, the damage to property is likely to be more than 200,000 Swiss francs.
