Both supporters and opponents are spending millions in the referendum campaign for the planned expansion of the Swiss highway network. The budgets for the uniform financing of the healthcare system and the two tenancy law proposals are more modest.

The non-partisan "Yes to securing the national roads" committee alone has so far reported a budget of over CHF 3.4 million to the Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO), as the latter announced on Friday. In total, the budget of the Yes camp amounts to almost CHF 4.1 million.

In the run-up to the vote on November 24, the No side, on the other hand, stated a budget of just over CHF 2.7 million, according to the SFAO. The Swiss Transport Club (VCS) contributed the largest share of this with a good CHF 1.7 million.

The advocacy alliance "Healthcare with a future" is therefore investing a good CHF 1.5 million in the campaign in favor of uniform financing in the healthcare system. The alliance includes the H+ hospital association and the FMH medical association. The opponents' budget amounts to CHF 0.55 million. The Swiss Federation of Trade Unions is spending by far the most money, namely a good CHF 395,000.

For the two tenancy law bills on subletting and termination for personal use, the proponents are putting up a good CHF 1.7 million, the opponents CHF 750,000.
